This fast growing international Software industry leader has an immediate 6+ month contract opportunity for a Senior Android Engineer. Can work remotely from anywhere in the US. This position requires experience in the Android/Linux OS layer including customizations in the OS layer to be able to support custom hardware. Will work as part of the mobile platform team to help build and customize the Android OS for custom hardware. Will be the liaison to the hardware team and vendors for device driver support. Will support specific OS needs from the app development team. Will develop tools and utilities for enhancing the platform and troubleshooting capabilities.

This position requires:

B.S or M.S in Computer Science or equivalent.
8+ years experience.
Solid understanding of AOSP and the Linux kernel.
Ability to work with custom hardware and be able to port AOSP versions and customize appropriately.
Ability to ramp up quickly is a must.
Experience working with project tracking tools like Jira.
Experience working with source control systems like perforce, GIT.
Experience with software development on Android
