Position: Director of Nursing Psych
Location: San Francisco, California, 94143
Term: 2 months (10-Aug-2020 - 09-Oct-2020)

Day-to-day Responsibilities

  • Creation of a new staffing model to reduce fixed expenses for all FTEs under the incumbents domain
  • In partnership with VP of LPPH&C, create a plan to increase the inpatient census as well as the PHP program and Intensive Outpatient Services.  
  • In partnership with VP and Executive Director of LPPH&C, clear all TJC deficiencies from mock survey
  • Act as the clinical lead to ensure a timely and safe transition for all adult inpatient services

  • Advanced knowledge of hospital operations in a multi-hospital setting; knowledge of appropriate professional standards for the multidisciplinary team.
  • Advanced communications and interpersonal skills to promote an effective model of shared governance among multiple disciplines. Ability to motivate and engage all levels of staff regarding patient care programs, strategies, and organizational mission and values
  • Advanced leadership, fiscal and operations management skills. Ability to develop nurse leaders in their adoption and promotion of a shared governance model of collaboration
  • Ability to develop a systems strategic plan and implementing that vision across a large, complex organization
  • In-depth knowledge of a broad scope of relevant regulatory requirements, as well as legislative, accreditation, licensing and compliance environments.    
  • Minimum ten years of increasingly responsible management experience preferably, in a large academic and/or complex and highly-matrixed health care organization
  • Experience in outpatient and inpatient mental health facilities
  • Strong conceptual clinical base with expertise in professional practice models, systems thinking, and quality improvement 
  • Ability to develop nurse leaders in their adoption and promotion of a shared governance model of collaboration among disciplines
  • Extensive knowledge of hospital operations in a multi-hospital setting; knowledge of appropriate professional standards for the multidisciplinary team
  • Experience managing Nurse Practitioners in Outpatient settings Preferred
  • Proven track record in the recruitment, retention, and development of talent. Commitment to an academic mission which supports education and staff development  
  • Track record of management and staff collaboration across the hospital, medical center, or enterprise. Ability to motivate and engage all levels of staff in regards to patient care programs, strategies, and organizational mission and values    
  • Advanced communications and interpersonal skills to promote an effective model of shared governance among multiple disciplines and to promote an effective model of shared governance among multiple disciplines. Ability to motivate and engage all levels of staff in regards to patient care programs, strategies, and organizational mission and values.    
  • Advanced mental health leadership, fiscal and operations management skills. Ability to develop nurse leaders in their adoption and promotion of a shared governance model of collaboration 
  • Ability to develop a systems strategic plan and implement vision across a large, complex organization   
  • Experience with LEAN management systems or willingness to learn within first six months of hire and actively apply skills to operational and strategic initiatives
