BI Analyst

Critical to the needs of our IT Department, the BI Analyst plays an integral role in developing, troubleshooting, and performance tuning Power BI reports, dashboards, and datasets by using requirements analysis and design techniques.  Additionally, the BI Analyst partners with chief infrastructure and architectural heads to ensure that the application meets company service level standards and roadmap requirements.

Core Responsibilities:

• Designing, developing and maintaining Power BI solutions
• Develop and maintain new and existing Power BI applications, dashboards, and reports
• Crafting and executing queries upon request for data
• Presenting information through reports and visualization
• Analyze and understand business requirements to provide to translate to technical requirements.
• Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting
• Collaborate with teams to integrate systems

Software & Technology

• Expert level knowledge of Power BI (desktop and cloud)
• Familiar with interaction of SharePoint with Power BI.
• Expert level knowledge of Power BI measures and calculations using DAX and/or M (power query formula language)
• Familiar row level security (RLS) in Power BI
• Experience with analyzing business requirements that relate to BI requirements
• Familiar with using business and system process flow techniques using UML (e.g. Use Case Diagrams, Activity Diagrams, Entity Relationship Diagrams)
• Familiar with MS SQL queries and general data modeling
• Expert level knowledge of Power BI data modeling
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle methodologies (e.g. Waterfall, Iterative, Agile)

Work Experience

2-3+ years’ experience

Education/Training

BS in Computer Science or related field (or 3-4 years BI/data analytics related experience)
